Pathways to Teaching for Paras
A variety of universities and local colleges offer programs called Pathways to Teaching for Paraprofessionals. These programs allow paraprofessionals to continue working while taking courses and completing student teaching. These programs typically require placement as a special education paraprofessional. Fort Osage is able to collaborate with most Pathways to Teaching programs.
Fort Osage is an official partner with Missouri State University's Pathways for Paras program.
Become a Special Education teacher through the apprenticeship program at Missouri State University. Through this program, you receive discounted tuition rates and can remain employed as a para while doing your student teaching. Win win! See below for more.
