Orientation Information for Parents and Students

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s), 

The new school year is starting soon and the Career and Technology Center (CTC) is prepared to make it a successful one for your student. As your students' schools continue to roll out updated plans for this fall, we would like to take this opportunity to let you know CTC classes will meet 5 days a week face to face beginning September 8th.  

The CTC has a unique blend of students from five different high schools and there are undoubtedly differences in the way your high school and the CTC handle certain situations. Please join us for a required online orientation meeting on the evening of Thursday, August 27th to discuss key policies, procedures, plans, and student opportunities.  

This invitation is for all parents/guardians and students. During this time you will meet with your student’s teacher to gain information about what to expect in their year(s) at CTC. Teachers will also share information about the course requirements, any necessary course supplies, and curriculum information. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your student’s teacher and ask any questions you might have. You will also have the opportunity to hear from our administration about the CTC. In particular, the explanation of the CTC attendance, driving policies, and school calendar differences are critical for parents to understand. This will be delivered in a pre-recorded video linked on the next page.

This meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 27th. To access the meeting please refer to the next page for the link to your student’s meeting. Students that are new to CTC will attend the meeting at 6:00pm. Students that are returning to CTC will attend the meeting at 7:00pm.  All parents should visit this link for a message from Administration bit.ly/CTCParentAdmin.  

The success of your student is important to all of us. We believe that communication is a key element in promoting your student’s success. Please make every effort to attend the required virtual meeting and to watch the administration message. Very important information will be discussed. Again, we look forward to seeing you virtually the evening of the 27th of August.
