An exciting new component of our summer programming is the implementation of a reading intervention block for all students in kindergarten through 4th grade. The goal of this time is to provide all students with differentiated support based upon their academic needs in reading. The intervention block allows for students on Reading Success Plans to continue receiving small group support with a reading intervention teacher each day for 30 minutes while they are attending summer school without missing any core curriculum throughout the day.

2026 Summer School Tutoring Opportunities:
- All summer school tutoring positions are coordinated through the A+ office. An email will be sent in early April to A+ enrolled students who have not completed their tutoring hours and are meeting the 2.5 GPA requirement and the 95% attendance requirement, along with instructions on how to sign up for A+ summer school tutoring.
- If a student plans to take a summer school class at the high school along with tutoring, it will be necessary to sign up for their summer school class(es) first, so they will know their time available to tutor.
Please note: A+ Tutoring is NOT a summer school class. It is only an opportunity to complete the 50-hour requirement for the A+ Program. All A+ tutors will be responsible for their own transportation.
The deadline to sign up for tutoring will be Friday, May 1, 2026.
All students approved for summer school tutoring will be required to attend the Summer School Training Session. That date will be provided at a later date. This training session is mandatory for all tutors and will take place during the school day. If you have any questions, please email Victoria Moore at VMoore@fortosage.net.
