Next Superintendent of Schools Announced by the Board of Education
The Fort Osage Board of Education, is pleased to announce Dr. Cindy Grant, as the next Superintendent of Schools for the Fort Osage School District. Dr. Grant will officially join the Fort Osage School District in July 2026.
“I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to join the Fort Family and become part of the proud community that deeply believes in and supports its school district. I am excited to walk alongside students, staff, families, and community members, with the opportunity to learn, grow, and empower one another as the Fort Osage School District continues its strong tradition of excellence,” said Grant.

April 7, 2026 Election
The Fort Osage School District will have three issues for voters to cast a vote on in the April 7, 2026 election. Voters will be asked to cast a vote for a no tax increase bond issue, a no tax increase levy transfer, and the Board of Education election.

The Fort Osage Board of Education has voted to place two no tax increase questions on the April 7 ballot—a bond issue and a levy transfer.
To help families and community members better understand what these questions mean, the District will host two informational sessions. These sessions are designed to share facts, answer questions, and provide clarity around how each proposal would impact Fort Osage schools.

Board of Education Superintendent Search
The Board of Education began a comprehensive search in January 2026 to find the next superintendent for the Fort Osage School District.
The Board has approved working with the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) to conduct a national structured search and hiring process. A timeline of key dates is included below.
An important part of this work is hearing from the people who know Fort Osage best.
