Substitutes

PERKS OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHING:

• Can set your own working schedule
• Substitute jobs can be selected as half or full days, depending on the jobs
• Substitute teaching jobs can include jobs as teachers, paraprofessionals and office staff

PAY RATES for 2025-2026:

• $130/day Regular Teacher
  • $160/day Long-Term Teacher (10 or more consecutive days in the same job
• $145 / day Retired Teacher
  • $175/day Retired Long-Term Teacher (10 or more consecutive days in the same job)
• $116/day Para Substitute
  • $120/day Retired Teacher Para Substitute

For substitute teachers or substitute paras that work 10 or more FULL school days in a month, an additional $130 will be paid as an incentive each qualifying month.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Cleared Criminal Background Check

SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATE:

All substitute teachers are required to hold a current and valid Missouri substitute teaching certificate.

Do you have 36 or more college credit hours? You can follow this link, create a profile through DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) and apply for your certification today!

If you do not, you must complete this 20 hour Substitute Teacher Training Course on Frontline. Then follow this link to create a profile and apply for your certification.

All returning substitute teachers must attend sub registration on July 22, 2025 OR contact Stefanie Doty to review District substitute teacher information and protocols.
