Fort Osage Plans and Information For COVID-19

  •  May 4, 2021

Per the newly released Jackson County Health Department COVID-19 guidelines, the Fort Osage safety protocols have been updated. The following guidelines are currently in place at Fort Osage:

    • Masks are not required outdoors
    • Masks are still required indoors
    • While social distancing is no longer required by the health department, quarantining due to close contact is still in effect.
    • Fort Osage will continue to maintain social distancing, when possible, in order to limit the number of people required to quarantine.

The updated guidelines do not impact quarantine procedures in Jackson County or for Fort Osage students and staff.  The Quarantine Guidelines are listed below:

    Students (Grades K-12)

Students will quarantine if they were 3 feet or closer for 15 or more minutes. When participating in physical activity (like PE or recess), during lunch, and during times when mask wearing cannot be maintained, 6 feet or closer for 15 or more minutes will be used to determine student quarantine.

Adults will continue to quarantine if they were 6 feet or closer for 15 or more minutes. Vaccinated persons with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they meet all of the following criteria:

    • Are fully vaccinated (i.e., ≥2 weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or ≥2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine)
    • Are within 3 months following receipt of the last dose in the series
    • Have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure

Persons who do not meet all 3 of the above criteria should continue to follow current quarantine guidance after exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
