• From creating ice cream flavors like lavender-honey and double chocolate out of liquid nitrogen to designing a menu and running a coffee shop out of the classroom, Culinary Arts is perfect for students interested in careers as a professional chef, restaurant owner, food service manager, nutritionist, hospitaly manager or who would just like to learn how to cook for fun! Culinary Arts is available to 11th and 12th grade students. The focus of study in culinary arts will be food service terminology, equipment identification and use, knife skills, and basic food preparation. This class is designed to prepare students to create restaurant quality meals. Successful completion of this course will prepare students for entry-level positions in full-service restaurants, hotels, and continued education in a culinary program at the college level.
