Dates for Summer School are June 2 - July 2, 2014  


Summer School enrollment forms received by May 9th will guarantee bus transportation on the first day of summer school.  If summer school forms are received after May 9th, parents will need to contact transportation at 816-650-7200 to make arrangements.  If you have any questions regarding summer school, contact our office at (816) 650-7016 or email Sherry Ward at sward@fortosage.net.

Consult the appropriate handbook below for specific building information. To enroll your student, complete the summer school enrollment form provided in the handbook and turn into your child's current home building. If your child is not a current student you can send the enrollment form to the building in which your child will be attending for summer school.  

If you are new to the district (including Rising Kindergarten), you also need to complete and submit the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) attached below.

Summer School Meal Information 
The Summer Academy will provide free breakfast and lunch for all Rising K—4th grade  students. Free breakfast for all Rising 5th - 8th grade students at Fire Prairie Upper Elementary and Osage Trail Middle School as well as a pre-lunch snack before dismissal, and free breakfast for all Rising 9th - 12th grade students at Fort Osage High School. Menus will be provided on the first day of summer school.

The Fort Discovery Summer Childcare Program
 
Fort Discovery will be available for all Rising Kindergartners through  Rising 6th graders enrolled in the Fort Osage Summer Academy. Services will be available on-site for students attending the Summer Academy at the five elementary schools: Blue Hills, Buckner, Cler-Mont, Elm Grove, and Indian Trails.   NOTE: Rising 5th and 6th grade students attending Fire Prairie Upper Elementary will attend Fort Discovery at Indian Trails Elementary and be bused to and/or from Fire Prairie for Summer Academy.  Students enrolled in Fort Discovery will be required to attend the Summer Academy while it is in session. Fees are listed in the summer school handbooks.  


 
Transportation

Transportation will be available for transportation-eligible students attending Summer Academy. Students attending Summer Academy must be five years of age on or before May 30th to ride the summer school bus.  Note: transportation is not provided for A+ tutors earning hours in a different building from which they are enrolled. Check the building handbook for summer school routes, as bus stops may not be the same as those during the regular school year. All other inquiries should be made directly to the Transportation office at 650-7200.

Please keep in mind that class sizes are limited, so we encourage you to enroll your child as soon as possible. 
Students enrolled for Summer School by May 9th will receive a confirmation letter at school on or before May 30th. You may still enroll for the Summer Academy after May 9, 2014, but your child will not receive a confirmation letter and will not be able to ride the bus on the first day of summer school.
