Dear Friends,

As many of you know, YouthFriends has been very dear to my heart for many years and it saddens me to make this announcement. There is no good way to tell you but we received a letter this week regarding our volunteer program which serves Fort Osage. The YouthFriends mentoring program will no longer be offered for all local districts as of May 31st, 2013. As of June 1st the North Kansas City School District will be taking over the program for their district only. We are very disappointed to receive and share this kind of news, but please know that we value our volunteers and we are looking into developing a program of our own. We are confident that our volunteers will continue to support our students through the remainder of the year and beyond.  I will try to answer any and all questions as they come in.
