WOW, or Working On Wellness, is your school district’s wellness program that is dedicated to keeping its employees happy and healthy. WOW offers fun challenges and programs every month for employees to participate in to improve their health AND win awesome prizes. This year, there is a new member of the team who brings with her a new component of the wellness program. Shanna Stewart is a Registered Dietitian and the district’s new Health Enhancement Coordinator through Blue Cross Blue Shield and Saint Luke’s Health System LIFEWISE. WOW will continue to have monthly wellness programming, but now Fort Osage staff members also have the opportunity to meet with Shanna one-on-one for individual nutrition consultations. Whether your goal is weight loss, condition specific, or improving your overall health, Shanna will work with you on setting specific health goals and creating action plans to help you achieve them.
Shanna graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in Nutrition & Health, Dietetics and a minor in Kinesiology. She also works at Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park as a Clinical Dietitian. Promoting health and wellness is not just Shanna’s career; it’s her passion. Some of her favorite hobbies include exercising, cooking and baking healthy recipes, and writing for her wellness blog. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, her 3 puppies, and cheering on the Kansas City Royals and K-State Wildcats. Shanna is dedicated to helping others take control of their health through proper nutrition and exercise. She recognizes that most people want to improve their health, but just need some guidance and motivation to do so. She hopes to be that person for all of you here at Fort Osage.
