David Shrout was first elected to the Board of Education in April 1987 and elected as President of the Board on April 10, 2012. David is a local farmer in the area. He is an Alumni and a member of the class of 1969. He and his wife, Joanne, live in Independence. They have three children, Beth, Josh, and Jon, who are all Fort Osage Alumni.

Diana Rice was first elected to the Board in April 2006. She was elected as Vice-President April 10, 2012. She is an alumnus of Fort Osage class of 1979. She is employed by Hallmark. She and her husband, John, live in Independence. They are the proud parents of four children, DJ, Meaghan, Hannah, and Jon.

Sharon Dankenbring was first elected to the board in April 1992. She recently retired from the Examiner as Advertising Director. She and her husband Jim have two children, both of whom are Fort Osage Alumni.

Gary Thompson was first elected to the Board of Education in April 1996. Gary is a retired senior Vice President of Bank of America. He and his wife, Alice, have been married for 32 years and have two sons, Brent and Devin, who are both Fort Osage Alumni. Gary has lived in the Fort Osage School District for over 30 years.

Carol Marcks was first elected to the board in April 2004. Carol is a retired Fort Osage School District Employee.

Kirk Stobart was first elected to the Board of Education in April 2011. Kirk is a Firefighter with the City of Independence Fire Department and President of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 781. He and his wife, Samantha, have been married for 13 years and have two daughters, Shelby and Kelcey, who are both students in the district. Kirk is a Fort Osage graduate from the class of 1989.

scott Kelly Scott was first elected to the Board of Education in April 2012. He is an alumnus of Fort Osage class of 1976. His son graduated from Fort Osage and he currently has four grandchildren in the district. Kelly has served for many years as the announcer at Fort Osage soccer games.
